Admission Requirements
General Qualifications
An applicant should hold a Bachelor’s degree awarded by a recognized tertiary institution or have equivalent qualifications, which will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
Language Requirements
An applicant whose degree is not from a tertiary institution in Hong Kong or an English-speaking country should obtain:
- A band score of 5.5 or above in the International English Language Testing System (IELTS)1; or
- A minimum score of 46 (internet-based test) in the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL)1; or
- A minimum score of 430 in the Chinese Mainland's College Entrance Test Band 6 (CET-6)2.
- Applicants who do not fulfil the above language requirements but have an equivalent score in a recognized test, or an equivalent qualification assessment to prove their language proficiency may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
Upon admission, students are required to complete English courses and activities offered by the University, in order to meet graduation requirements and improve their English ability and expand their international perspective.
1 For IELTS and TOEFL qualifications for admission purposes, the University accepts only results from a single test sitting. The test must be conducted at a recognised test centre and fall within the two-year validity period, counted from the date of submission of the admission application for the specific intake cohort.
2 For CET-6 results submitted for admission purposes, the University accepts only those obtained within the five-year validity period, counted from the date of submission of the admission application for the specific intake cohort. Applicants must also demonstrate competency in spoken English through an oral interview conducted by the Programme and/or obtain grade B or above in the CET-6 Speaking English Test.
Submission of Supporting Documents:
Please upload the scanned copies of the following supporting documents to Online Application System. Applications with incomplete/ missing document will not be processed.
- Copies of identity card, passport, or any other identity document(s) of home country;
- Original valid official English test report (Submit ONE of the followings):
- TOEFL: Internet-based: 46 or above
- IELTS (Academic): Band 5.5 or above
- CET-6: Score of 430 or above
- Certifying letter issued and stamped with official chop by the Registry of the university confirming the medium of instruction of your WHOLE degree programme was English.
- Certificate of academic/ professional qualifications
- For applicants who have completed bachelor degree studies
- Certificates of academic/ professional qualifications (Photocopy)
- Applicants who obtained degrees from Mainland China should provide the copies of Chinese version of degree certificate (學士學位证书) and graduation certificate (普通高等毕业证书); and Higher Education Degree Certificate (中国高等教育学位在线验证报告) issued by the CHESICC (學信網).
- Certificates of academic/ professional qualifications (Photocopy)
- For applicants who have not completed current bachelor degree studies
- Official copy of Certificate of Study (with University’s Registry official stamp)
- For applicants who have completed bachelor degree studies
- Official Transcript and Grading Scheme
- With a complete record of courses attended, examination results, overall result and date of award issued by the Registry of institution
- Include average mark or cumulative GPA
- Confidential Recommendation Forms completed by two referees

Any false, unclear or misleading information and/or document(s) provided by applicants in their application will disqualify their applications or revoke their admission offers, and any fees paid, including down payment or deposit, will be forfeited. According to the laws of Hong Kong, forgery is a serious criminal offence that a convicted offender may be liable to imprisonment for fourteen years.
