Programme Features
Senior Government Officials and NGO’s Top Management
Guest speakers, including the Hong Kong SAR senior government officials and top management from social welfare organisations (former or current), are regularly invited to share insights on the policy-making process and the latest industry developments with students of the BSocSc (Honours) - Health and Social Services Management programme.
Using Gerontechnology to Support Caregivers and the Elderly
Students will learn to use various innovative gerontechnology products and apply them in daily life to alleviate the burden on caregivers and improve the quality of life for the elderly.
Field Visits
The programme arranges for students to visit institutions related to social services, gerontechnology, healthcare services, elderly care homes and social enterprises. This allows them to understand the needs of different service recipients and gain relevant knowledge in service management, laying a solid foundation for a career in the social service industry.
Service-Learning Opportunities
Our curriculum has incorporated hands-on training where students undertake at least 40 hours of internship at social welfare organisations. This experiential arrangements provide students with valuable front-line work experience and trains them to integrate theory with practice, reflect on the current social welfare policies, and explore and advocate for more creative solutions.
Fundraising and Project Evaluation
This programme imparts practical knowledge that are highly applicable in the social welfare sector, teaching students essential skills for fundraising and evaluating projects and the knowledge and experience necessary in the establishment of social enterprises.

# Students are required to take a total of four courses in the five cluster domains, namely Creativity and innovation, Humanities and the arts, Management and society, Science, technology, mathematics and society, Values, cultures and societies.
