On March 6, 2026, the Belgium Consulate celebrated International Women's Day by hosting a competition for university students. We are proud to announce that Sweta Gurung, a final-year student majoring in International Economy & Politics at Lingnan University, was chosen to serve as Consul General for a Day.

Sweta's day included engaging morning briefings, fruitful lunch meetings with influential leaders, and a visit to the IMF office, where she explored global economic dynamics. Her hands-on experience in the daily tasks of a Consul General not only showcased her dedication but also highlighted the importance of women's leadership in diplomacy. This initiative is a significant step toward empowering the next generation of leaders.
