Funding Support and Scholarship

Local students participating in the Student Exchange Programme (SEP) may continue to apply for Government Grants and Loans, provided that they remain enroll at Lingnan University and pay the required Lingnan tuition fees throughout the exchange period.

In addition, thanks to the generous support of our donors, the University offers a range of scholarships and financial aid options for eligible SEP participants. Applications for these funding opportunities are normally invited each year in April.

The Education Bureau (EDB) offers the following subsidy schemes for post-secondary students with financial needs to participate in exchange activities outside Hong Kong:

Scheme on Subsidy on Exchange for Post-secondary Students (SSE)

This scheme supports local students participating in eligible SEP, summer, and winter programmes. Those receiving means-tested student financial assistance from the SFO or whose families receive Comprehensive Social Security Assistance (CSSA) are encouraged to apply.

Non-Means-Tested Mainland Experience Scheme

Local and non-local students participating in the eligible Student Exchange Programme (SEP), and in summer, and winter programmes in the Mainland, can apply.

Scheme for Means-Tested / Non-Means-Tested Subsidy on Exchange to “Belt and Road” Regions

Local students in eligible SEP, summer, and winter programmes in Belt and Road regions (excluding the Mainland, Taiwan, and Macao) are welcome to apply. Eligible students will receive emails regarding application procedures. Applicants should submit application forms along with a copy of the SFO's approval letter, if applicable.
