HRM3202: Training and Development
Empowering Communities Through Engaging Workshops
In the dynamic course HRM3202, student teams united to launch meaningful projects that uplift diverse community members. Their dedication to growth and connection shone through a series of workshops tailored for domestic workers, the elderly, women, and families living in subdivided units (SDUs).
Cantonese Classes for Domestic Workers
Understanding the challenges faced by domestic workers in Hong Kong, students organized two Cantonese classes, each consisting of two sessions. These interactive classes not only taught essential language skills but also fostered a sense of belonging among participants. To enhance learning, students prepared engaging video clips that made mastering Cantonese both fun and accessible.

Health and Sports Workshops for the Elderly
Recognizing the importance of health and wellness, students hosted four sessions of Health, Sports, and Laser Engraving workshops specifically for the elderly. These sessions were designed to promote physical activity and creativity, allowing participants to engage in exercises that boosted their well-being. The accompanying video clips served as a handy guide, encouraging elderly individuals to stay active from the comfort of their homes.
Women Empowerment Workshops
Empowering women was at the heart of another series of workshops, which included four distinct sessions. Covering topics such as Design Thinking, Laser Engraving, 3D Printing, and Entrepreneurship Skills, these workshops provided women with practical tools to enhance their skills and confidence. Participants learned how to leverage social platforms to create their own businesses, sparking a wave of entrepreneurial spirit in the community.

Green Initiatives for SDU Families
In an effort to promote sustainability, students led engaging green programs for families living in subdivided units. Activities like beach cleaning and country park clean-ups brought children and parents together, fostering a sense of community while instilling the importance of caring for the environment. These hands-on experiences not only educated participants about sustainability but also created lasting memories.
Design Thinking and 3D Printing for the Elderly
Finally, students organized four sessions focused on Design Thinking, 3D Printing, and Engraving for the elderly. These workshops encouraged creativity and innovation, allowing participants to express themselves through technology. By exploring design concepts and hands-on activities, the elderly were empowered to embrace new skills and ideas.

Through these diverse initiatives, students from HRM3202 showcased the transformative power of training and development. By prioritizing connection, creativity, and empowerment, they made a lasting impact on the communities they served. Each workshop not only imparted valuable skills but also fostered a sense of belonging and hope, paving the way for a brighter future for all participants.
