Data Repository System Enhancement: TPg APR Data Integration & Automated Reporting

To support the streamlined Annual Programme Report (APR) guidelines approved by the Senate for the 2024–25 reporting exercise, the Data Repository System (DRS) has been enhanced in January 2026 to improve statistical reporting for Taught Postgraduate (TPg) programmes. 

In addition to meeting the new reporting requirements, the enhancement integrates data from multiple systems and automates backend workflows, significantly simplifying the data collection, management, and reporting process, reducing manual efforts, improving data consistency and enhancing the accuracy of the APR.

Key enhancements include: 

• Integrated Data Management

  Data is automatically synchronized from core University systems, including Online Admission System (OAS) and Banner, and processed according to APR reporting requirements. All data is stored as snapshots, with a data-freezing function available to facilitate consistent year-on-year comparisons and reporting.

• Streamlined Reporting Process

  All APR-related report tables are centrally accessible through Data Export > Annual Report by Programme. Each table is accompanied by clear descriptions and data source information, enabling users to easily locate, understand, and export the required data.

• Enhanced Data Upload Functionality

  The upload process for required report tables has been simplified with downloadable templates for data preparation. Built-in academic-year validation helps prevent incorrect submissions and improves data accuracy.
