Suspension of Electricity Supply on Main Campus

In accordance with the Electricity Ordinance (Chapter 406), it is the University’s responsibility to conduct the improvement works identified in the Periodic Test for Fixed Electrical Installations. Electricity supply to the buildings will be suspended overnight during the period mentioned in the table below.

Staff residing in the listed buildings are reminded to switch off all electrical appliances and computer equipment before they leave. Also, confidential documents and personal belongings shall be under lock and valuables should not be left unattended in office. Contractors, to be accompanied by our technicians and security guards, may need to get access to different areas for inspection during and after the improvement works.
During the working period, the security and safety measure will be strengthened as follows:
- Temporary lighting along the main pathways on Main Campus shall be maintained.
- All doors will be double checked to ensure that they are under lock.
- The frequency of site patrol by security will be increased.
