Chinese Tea Promotion in Young People - 2024 Activities

Chinese Tea Art Foundation Course (May 2024) (Completed)

This course trained 42 Lingnan University students and invited qualified Chinese National Tea Artists to provide a series of basic tea art classes. In addition to teaching fundamental knowledge of tea art, the classes included demonstrations and practice, encouraging participants to promote Chinese tea art within the community.

For thousands of years, Chinese people have found joy in tea, with their aspirations and philosophical thoughts deeply reflected in various literary works that modern audiences have yet to fully appreciate. The seminar will share insights into Chinese tea culture and relevant poetry, introducing the life philosophy contained within.

Public Seminar "Introduction to Chinese Tea-Making Techniques" (September 21, 2024)

Mr. Ip Wing-chi, a famous tea expert of Hong Kong, shared his personal experiences on the heritage of Chinese tea. He introduced how the ingredients of tea influence the flavor and human health. The lecture also covered the characteristics and benefits of green tea, black tea, and oolong tea. The audience gained valuable insights throughout the event.

Tea Culture Workshops (April to August 2024) (Completed)

Inviting Chinese National Tea Artists to visit secondary schools to promote tea art to students. The workshops will be designed to be accessible and will aim to enhance secondary students' interest in traditional Chinese culture and tea art, encouraging them to promote tea culture in the community after their training.

Tea Art Experience Workshops (September to November 2024) (Completed)

Conducted by Chinese National Tea Artists and "Tea Culture Promotion Ambassadors," these workshops will visit elderly centers/services in areas such as Tuen Mun and Yuen Long, introducing participants to different varieties of Chinese tea.

The event showcases the achievements of students who promote Chinese tea culture in the community. In the seminar, invited speaker discusses various health issues from the perspective of Chinese tea and suggests different types of Chinese tea for various age groups.
