Looking back on my one-year study at Lingnan University in Hong Kong, it has truly been an unforgettable journey. One year ago, I was hesitating whether to accept Lingnan’s offer, as I had a precious opportunity to work at an international financial institution. However, pursuing further study internationally—especially in Hong Kong—had always been my goal, and I had prepared for it for two years. Now, I can confidently say that this experience has proven it was worth choosing the HROM programme. I feel very honoured to be part of the first cohort of the HR Analytics stream. I am grateful for the strong support from the Programme Director and all staff members. My name is Sun Yuman, from Hanzhong, Shaanxi. I applied to Lingnan at the last minute last year, and the sincere, approachable professors during the interview solidified my choice. My greatest gain this year has been in-depth learning of AI and data analytics in HR; the flexible course schedule also allowed me precious internship time, enhancing my competitiveness in campus recruitment. The MGT506 practicum offered me firsthand exposure to Hong Kong workplace culture and valuable collaboration with peers from diverse disciplines, greatly broadening my horizons. As a new master’s graduate of the HRMOB programme at Lingnan University, this study experience has given me a lot. The professional courses built my HR management knowledge system in a systematic way and strengthened my professional foundation from the theoretical side. And the practical training and corporate practice parts let me combine theories with real work scenarios deeply, helping me gain valuable hands-on experience. The professors were great too. They were really patient and responsible, whether teaching in class or answering questions after class. The study atmosphere in the class was super comfortable—no need to be stressed out, so I studied easily and happily. Even after graduation, the college’s thoughtful and detailed follow-up services still keep supporting me. This care feels warm and strong. Now that I’ve graduated, my love for Lingnan is getting deeper. I will definitely come back to the campus often in the future to relive this precious time. | |

| 'My experiences, which can be divided into learning and life. In terms of learning, I’ve not only filled gaps in knowledge that weren’t covered during my undergraduate studies but also significantly improved my presentation skills and teamwork abilities. These have greatly enhanced both my soft and hard skills. In terms of life, through group collaborations in the second semester, I met some amazing partners who supported each other in both academics and became close friends in our daily lives. Additionally, internships and study tours have broadened my horizons. I would like to offer some advice. During this year of study, I hope you can think clearly about two things: first, whether you plan to stay and work in Hong Kong. This will determine if you need to improve your Cantonese and English. Second, whether you want to pursue a career in HR, which will influence whether you should focus on gaining HR-related internship experience. If you aim to work in HR, be well-prepared.' | |

'I gained a lot during the time I’m in MSc of HRMOB programme, beside knowledge and profession skills, I have also met good teachers and interesting classmates. Professors are very responsible and knowledgeable; officers are very careful and classmates helping each other in learning stuff, besides there are some extracurricular activities. By this means, I have promoted my understanding and knowledge on management for further development.

The professors and staff foster a long-term relationship environment here, which makes it one of the best learning experiences. Learning from professors who were once exceptional HR Directors, and have managed this degree since commencement, the course is all about practicality and application. Apart from academic knowledge, team building and networking are what you will gain at every turn in this degree. At any given time, you can always consult with professors regarding your career and entrepreneurial ideas and learn from their first-hand experiences. The teaching style of every professor varies in a fascinating way. You won't believe me if I tell you that one of our courses included a talent show as an icebreaker activity.' | |

| ‘This Programme allows me to gain invaluable knowledge from experienced professors who used “real-life” examples as part of their teaching. In the past year, the Programme arranged different guest speakers to deliver talks. In addition, site visits to companies were also well organized. I was mostly impressed with the visit to LinkedIn when we received a tour around the office. The humanistic and relaxing office allows employees to have good sense of belonging to the company. It also cultivates creativity and innovation for the establishment of the HR networking system.
