Overseas Internship Programmes (Summer 2026)

Eligibility

• Full-time undergraduates
• Aged 18 or above with valid travel document
• Excellent English communication and writing skills
• Highly independent, proactive, and culturally sensitive

Important Note: Pre-Internship Training Programme (PTP)

The Pre-Internship Training Programme (PTP) is a series of face-to-face/online training and self-learning courses that prepare you to acquire the strategies in improving your readiness towards internship opportunities.  

From 2025-26, students who are applying for internship programmes and/or internship subsidies arranged by OSA to participate in an internship programme are REQUIRED to complete the Compulsory Modules of the PTP, and are highly recommended to complete the Voluntary Modules together with the Digital LinkedIn Leaning Courses prior to the internships.

Financial Assistance at a Glance

To encourage students to participate in overseas internships that may not be remunerated, the following subsidies are available to eligible students. These financial supports are based on the principle of shared responsibility and aim to support part of the costs incurred during the internship.

• Overseas Internship Subsidy
  • Japan Internship Programme: up to HKD19,900 per student 
  • Bloom of Youth: up to HKD20,000 per student 
  • CareerDC: up to HKD20,000 per student
  • Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office: up to HKD10,000 per student 
  • Next Step Connections: up to HKD10,000 per student
  • VolTra International Workcamp: up to HKD20,000 per student
• First Generation University Education Fund: HK$5,000 – $10,000

Eligibility Criteria

For Both Subsidies:

• Full-time undergraduate student from any programme at Lingnan University (graduating on or after 31 August 2026)
• Aged 18 or above with valid travel document
• Maintains a cumulative GPA (cGPA) of 2.0 or above and not in academic probation 
• The internship must last a minimum of 4 weeks, taking place between mid-May and late August 2026
• Students must return to Hong Kong on 31 August 2026 or before
• Must complete Compulsory Modules of Pre-Internship Training Programme (PTP) 
• Each student may apply once per academic year

Additional Criteria for the Overseas Internship Subsidy:

• Students who have received Virtual Internship Subsidy in the same academic year are NOT be eligible for the Overseas Internship Subsidy

Additional Criteria for the First Generation University Education Fund:

• Must be a full-time undergraduate student who is the first generation in the family to receive university education 
• Must have financial need (e.g., recipient of Tertiary Student Finance Scheme)

• HKSAR Government Scholarship Fund - Reaching Out Award: HK$10,000 per student
• American Women’s Association (HK) Overseas Internship Financial Assistance: up to HK$25,000 per student (Update: Suspended – not available for Summer 2026)
