Recognition Scholarships and Awards Administered by the University
If the value of an award exceeds HK$13,000, the scholarship shall be open for application. This may not apply to some donations where the donor has established an approval procedure, which we have to follow. A Standing Panel of Scholarships will be set up responsible for the selection.

Entrance Scholarships
A range of entrance scholarships are available to support high-calibre local and non-local students. Lingnan University Non-local Student Scholarship supports outstanding international students to receive university education, including those from low and lower-middle income countries.

1. Awardee should achieve a CGPA of 3.20 or above who are full-time local undergraduates, hostel residents and demonstrate financial needs.
2. If there are candidates of comparable academic merits and financial status, priority shall be given to students who have outstanding performance in extra-curricular activities, community services or other non-academic areas.

1. Year 1 full-time undergraduate students, pursuing their first undergraduate degree immediate succeeding completion of their senior secondary school education.
2. The awardees should be permanent resident of Hong Kong, China.
3. The awardees should achieve a CGPA of 3.00 or above in 1st term.
4. The awardees should demonstrate a record of community service or charitable work, undertaken prior to their application of the Scholarship.

Eligibility and Criteria:
1. The Scholarship will be awarded to two full time undergraduate student participating in the Sinfonia as student tutors.
2. Awardees should have completed at least three music training modules (42 sessions), attained outstanding performance and demonstrated the potential/passion in coaching PWD/SEN students.
3. Priority will be given to students enrolled in MPA3102 Instrumental Ensemble (Year-based course) and/or Year-3 or Year-4 students.
4. Students will be assessed on their abilities in music and ensembleship, previous music-making experience, and leadership qualities or potential.

Eligibility and Criteria:
1. The Scholarships shall be awarded to 3 full-time students, who have achieved outstanding performances in Service Learning during the year.
2. The Scholarships shall be awarded on the basis of one’s commitment in the provision of services to the community. If there are candidates of comparable performance, their involvement in extra-curricular activities should be taken into consideration.

The Office of Student Affairs will administer the scholarships.
Donor: Love Foundation
Eligibility and Criteria:
1. The Scholarships shall be awarded to full-time undergraduate Year 1 or Year 2 students who have joined the Program via Love Foundation’s Application System.
2. Students are highly recommended to join the Program for two/three consecutive years.
3. Students should have attended at least 12 out of 16 training activities organised by Love Foundation.
4. Students should have demonstrated good performance throughout the Program and submit an essay of 500-1000 words, describing what they have learned from the Program in that year.

Eligibility and Criteria:
1. The Scholarships shall be awarded to full-time local bachelor's (year 2 and above) or master's degree students aged between 18 and 30;
2. Each awardee should achieve a GPA of 3.30 or above in the previous academic year;
3. Selection criteria include but not limited to academic performance, personal development as well as participation in social services.

Local and non-local students of UGC-funded programmes, with excellent performance in academic studies, recognised contribution to LU / society, demonstrated leadership and good communication skills, and strong commitment to the Hong Kong community.

The EMA aims to give recognition to deserving post-secondary students with special educational needs (SEN) in the pursuit of excellence in academic and other areas.

The TDS aims to give recognition to full-time students of UGC-funded programmes who have demonstrated achievements or talent in non-academic areas: (a) Sports and games; (b) Music and performing arts; (c) Culture, arts and design; or (d) Innovation, science and technology.

The Scheme aims to give recognition to undergraduate students enrolled in self-financed programmes.
Types of Scholarships and Awards:
1. Outstanding Performance Scholarship (OPS) - to award students with outstanding academic achievements and other areas. Scholarship amount: HK$40,000 each for local students and HK$80,000 each for non-local students.
2. Talent Development Scholarship (TDS) - to give recognition to students who have demonstrated achievements or talent in non-academic areas. Scholarship amount: HK$10,000 each.
3. Reaching Out Award (ROA) - to support meritorious students to participate in learning, internship or service programmes, as well as national, regional and international events and competitions that are conducted outside HK. Award amount: HK$10,000 each.
4. Endeavour Scholarship (EDS) - to give recognition to students with special educational needs (SEN) in the pursuit of excellence in academic and other areas. Scholarship amount: HK$15,000 each.

5. Best Progress Award (BPA) - to encourage and recognise students with significant progress and improvement. Award amount: HK$10,000 each.

1. The Scholarships shall be awarded to 3 full-time students, one from each of the Faculties - Arts, Business and Social Sciences respectively who have achieved outstanding academic results in Practical Chinese I in the previous year.
2. The selection criterion for the awards shall be on academic achievements. If there are candidates of comparable academic merit, their involvement in extra-curricular activities should also be taken into consideration.

Eligibility and Criteria:
1. The Scholarships shall be awarded to maximum 3 full-time undergraduate students who are Hong Kong permanent residents with the right of abode in Hong Kong.
2. The Scholarship recipients must have achieved a minimum CGPA of 3.70 in first term of the academic year.
3. Applicants must demonstrate strong financial needs, with preference for those from a financially disadvantaged background.

1. Year 1 to Year 3, full-time undergraduate students;
2. Students must be Hong Kong permanent residents with the right of abode in Hong Kong.
3. The Scholarship recipients must have achieved a CGPA of 3.0 or above in first term of the academic year.

3. The awardee must have taken CLA9021 (Innovation and Entrepreneurship for Global Grand Challenges), CLE9023 (Service Leadership) or SLP1101 (Community Engagement Through Service-Learning).
4. If there are candidates of comparable academic merits, priority shall be given to the student who has financial needs.

1. The Scholarship shall be awarded to one local female undergraduate student.
2. The awardee should achieve a CGPA of 3.25 or above in the current academic year.

4. The awardee shall not concurrently hold other academic scholarships.

Eligibility and Criteria:
1. The Scholarships shall be awarded to full-time undergraduate and postgraduate students either from the Diocesan Boys School (“DBS”), the Diocesan Girls School (“DGS”) or any school of the English Schools Foundation (“ESF”).
2. The age of the students shall be 25 or below.
3. The awardees should achieve a CGPA of 3 or above. For students who are in the first year at the University, academic attainment prior to entry to the University would also be considered.
4. Priority will be given to students with greater financial needs.

Eligibility and Criteria:
1. Full-time Year 1 local students pursuing UGC-funded programmes;
2. have a high standard of academic performance (a GPA of 3.5 or above in the first term exam);
3. have outstanding achievements or exceptional leadership qualities; and
4. be proficient in English and spoken Chinese
Scholarship Amount: The Scholarship covers full tuition fees, academic allowance and living allowance for the entire normative duration of study period towards an undergraduate degree programme; overseas learning subsidies and an opportunity to participate in a leadership programme.

1. The Scholarship shall be awarded to 4 local full-time undergraduate students who have financial needs.

4. The nominee is required to submit a list of community service activities participated in over the past three academic years, including the total hours of service for consideration.

1. The Scholarships shall be awarded to 4 full-time local undergraduate students who are Hong Kong permanent residents; 2 from each of the Faculty of Arts and the Faculty of Social Sciences.

The Scholarships aim to support undergraduate and postgraduate students in fulfilling their early careers in curating by acquiring professional skills and gaining work experiences in museums, galleries and/or cultural institutions through short-term curatorial programmes or internships.
Eligibility and Criteria:
1. The Scholarships shall be awarded to full-time Year 3 and Year 4 undergraduate students, majoring in the BA (Honours) in Film and Visual Arts and full time students studying in research postgraduate programme in the Department of Digital Arts and Creative Industries.
2. Awardees in undergraduate programme should have achieved a CGPA of 3 or above, together with an average GPA of 3 or above in curatorial-related courses.
3. Awardees in postgraduate programme should have confirmed their candidatures. If the internships will be taken up during their study periods, the approval from their chief supervisors must be sought.
4. Each applicant should have obtained an admission offer of a short-term curatorial programme or a job offer of curatorial internship issued by museums, galleries and/or cultural institutions in Hong Kong, chinese mainland or abroad during his/her study at Lingnan University.
No. of Award(s) and Amount: Ranging from HK$15,000 to HK$50,000 for each student, with a total value of the Scholarships is HK$120,000 per annum.

1. The Scholarships shall be awarded to 3 non-local full-time undergraduate students each from the Faculty of Arts, the Faculty of Business and the Faculty of Social Sciences who achieved a CGPA of 3 or above.
2. The selection criterion for the scholarships shall be on academic achievements. If there are candidates of comparable academic merit, his/her involvement in civic engagement shall also be taken into consideration.

Eligibility and Criteria:
1. The Scholarship shall be awarded to 1 Year 2 or above, full-time undergraduate student majoring in Cultural Studies.
2. Awardee should have achieved a CGPA of 3 or above, together with an outstanding performance in a written assignment of Cultural Studies related to “liberty”, “democracy”, “justice” or “fairness” during the year.
3. If there is candidate of comparable academic merit, his/her involvement in extra-curricular activities shall also be taken into consideration.

Eligibility and Criteria:
1. The Scholarships shall be awarded to 2 full-time, local Year 2-3 undergraduate (UG) students from the Department of History in each academic year.
2. Candidates must have a CGPA of 3 or above
3. If there are candidates of comparable academic performance, priority shall be given to local students with greater financial needs, or more commitment in community services.
4. Candidates are required to submit a CV and Statement of Purpose to the Donor.
5. Awardees must not hold other scholarships of comparable amount concurrently.

1. The Scholarship shall be awarded to a Year 2 to Year 4 full-time undergraduate student majoring in Cultural Studies, who attains the highest CGPA in the current semester.
