Chinese New Year Carnival
Chinese New Year is one of the most important festivals in Chinese communities. The Chinese New Year Carnival, co-organised by the Office of Student Affairs and the Office of Global Education, is held in February every year, attracting more than 500 students and staff to celebrate together. Students, especially non-local students, can experience the Chinese culture by enjoying performances and creating traditional Chinese Handicrafts.
This year’s event features stunning performances by both local and non-local students, as well as student-run cultural booths that showcase not only the Chinese New Year customs but also festive traditions from around the world.
Cultural Ambassadors 2025-26 at Briefing Session
Lingnan University Cultural Ambassador Programme
Launched in November 2021, the Lingnan University Cultural Ambassador Programme aims to nurture a group of students who are passionate about exploring and sharing different cultures, empowering them to become cultural ambassadors. The programme promote cross-cultural appreciation and integration on campus and in student hostels. Through participation in various cultural activities, the cultural ambassadors will gain knowledge and experience of different cultures, build friendships and networks with students from diverse backgrounds, and develop leadership with cross-cultural competency.
International Day 2025
International Day
Co-organised by the Office of Student Affairs and the Office of Global Education, International Day is held annually in October to promote internationalisation and celebrate the cultural diversity of Lingnan. Both local and non-local students are invited to perform on stage and set up booths to share their traditions and cultures.
