University Student Finance Scheme

Introduction

The scheme offers bursaries and/or interest-free loan to assist full-time local students who face financial hardship or whose financial needs cannot be adequately covered by Government financial assistance.  It aims to enhance the graduation and completion rates of financially needy students.

The bursaries / loans are donated by private organizations and individuals, aiming to support students from low-income families.  The offer of financial assistance is based on the financial circumstances of applicants and the criteria stipulated by individual donor.  In some circumstances, the students’ programmes of study and academic performance will also be taken into consideration.

In addition, hostel scholarships will also be allocated to local financially needy students who reside in student hostels.  Details of the hostel scholarships can be found on scholarships webpage.

• Bank of China (Hong Kong) Bursaries 
  中銀香港助學金

Bank of China (Hong Kong) Limited donates 10 bursaries of HK$5,000 each to financially needy students from the Faculty of Business with CGPA of 2.6 or above.

• Dr. Charles Chan Hostel Bursaries
  陳國強博士助宿金 

Dr. Charles Chan donates fifty bursaries of HK$5,000 each to needy hostel residents per annum.

• Fok Siu Fung and Lee Sze Wing Bursary
  霍小鳳李仕荣助學金

Mrs Tse Suk Man and Mr Anthony Lee Chun Tat donate two bursaries of HK$11,750 each to two full-time local undergraduate students with financial needs.  The students should achieve a CGPA of 2.5 or above.

Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants donates four bursaries of HK$5,000 each to students in Accounting with satisfactory academic result.

• Hsin Chong- K. N. Godfrey Yeh Education Fund Bursaries
  新昌 - 葉庚年教育基金助學金

The Incorporated Trustees of Hsin Chong – K. N. Godfrey Yeh Education Fund donates 10 bursaries of HK$10,000 each.

• Lingnan Club Bursaries
  嶺南會所助學金

Lingnan Club donates four bursaries of HK$5,000 each.

• Lingnan University Alumni Association (HK) Scholarship
  嶺南大學香港同學會獎學金

Lingnan University Alumni Association donates three scholarships to undergraduate students of HK$10,000 each.  The students should achieve a CGPA of 3.0 or above. 

• Lo Family Department of Chinese Bursary
  盧氏中文系助學金

Ms Lo donates 10 bursaries of HK$10,000 each to financially needy students majoring Chinese.

• LUA and LUAF Bursary 
  保協及保協慈善基金助學金

The Life Underwriters Association of Hong Kong Limited and the LUA Foundation Limited donate three bursaries of HK$10,000 each to financially needy students in the Risk and Insurance Management programme.

• Miss Leung Pui Han Bursary

Miss Leung Pui Han Scholarship Fund donates one bursary of HK$25,000 to a student with good academic performance.

• Miss Li Ching Memorial Fund

Miss Li Ching Memorial Fund donates multiple bursaries of HK$1,200 each to disabled students to purchase rehabilitative equipment.

  悟宿基金助學金

The Providence Foundation donates multiple bursaries of HK$8,000 - HK$13,000 to needy students with good academic performance.

• The Yuen Yuen Institute Bursaries
  圓玄學院助宿金

The Yuen Yuen Institute donates multiple bursaries totaling $20,000 to hostel residents.

• Tse Suk Man and Lee Chun Tat Anthony Scholarships
  謝淑敏李俊達獎學金

Mrs Tse Suk Man and Mr Anthony Lee Chun Tat donate two scholarships of HK$11,750 each to two full-time local undergraduate students with financial needs.  The students should achieve a CGPA of 3.0 or above. 

• Wong Bursaries

The Bursaries (HK$5,000 each) shall be awarded to ten full-time undergraduate students with financial needs from Lingnan Secondary School, Lingnan Dr Chung Wing Kwong Secondary School, or Lingnan Hang Yee Memorial Secondary School.

• Zonta Club of Kowloon Bursary
  九龍崇德社助學金

Zonta Club of Kowloon donates a bursary of HK$10,000 to a full-time female students with CGPA of 2.5 or above and track records in community services. The awardee should be a Golden Z Club member.
