About the exhibition

‘Apposite Relevance’ is an antanaclasis, a litotes, denoting the state which contains highly appropriateness, perfect for the situation at hand. The phrase express es an apposite inter-connection, simultaneously about nothing of specific relevance in its conte xt. Unravelling the extravagant terminologies, apposite relevance sets itself to be a thread of two words that are prone to no significance unless connected to an extra noun, or a subject that is relevant.
What does it mean to have an ‘apposite relevance’ to a subject? Perhaps it balances everything in between words and meanings – private and public, aggressive and passive, opened and closed, inside and outside – where everything is related as it does not. Speaking in a people-oriented context, relationship forming posed as an essential in society. Modern humans have invented countless ways to make relations, bind relationships, and create correlations. Humans rely on relevancy – we must learn by connecting dots from one to two. Almost like pulling onto a thread, everything is essentially twofold, valid and invalid in its apposite lexicon.
The exhibition gathers 20 young artists in a circle to thread a linear connection relevant to their own elements and conduct an outward inspection. Featuring large-scale installations to bizarre, fantastic imaginaries, the artworks lead to an artistic journey of designated personal expression. The confined space of the exhibition houses endless possibilities for the artists to visualise unique ways of viewing our world and forges a meaning of one’ s own. Visitors are invited to come onboard with the curious, emerging young artists to peruse the deepest depths of imagination and see the connection between everything, and nothing at all.
