To explore the possibility of inviting some academic staff members of Lingnan University to showcase teaching practices and/or project work with the Chinese University of Hong Kong(CUHK) colleagues as well as the local university community at the Teaching and Learning Innovation Expo 2023 (https://www.expo.elearning.cuhk.edu.hk/expo2023).

This year, the poster and oral presentations at the Expo 2023 are returning to in-person sessions, which will be held on 5 December 2023 at the Yasumoto International Academic Park (YIA) of CUHK.

 

Each invited university could nominate colleagues to contribute at most THREE poster presentations and ONE oral presentation on this occasion. Presentations could cover any ideas and practices related to teaching and learning in higher education ranging from course to institutional level regardless of whether technology is involved. Furthermore, we also welcome ONE of the posters being a student-led initiative (with students being authors or co-authors) in view of the fact that student-as-partner is an important approach for teaching and learning enhancement nowadays. Meanwhile, we are also touching base with other UGC-funded universities to invite presentations at the Expo 2023.

 

Further information on the presentation formats is as follows: 

  1. Poster presentation (in-person mode)

·         The poster presentation session will be held in person at the Yasumoto International Academic Park (YIA) of CUHK on 5 December 2023. This 90-minute interactive presentation session will fall between 12:30 and 14:45 on the day.

·         Submit a poster of 90 cm (width) x 140 cm (height) in JPEG or PDF format on or before 23 Nov 2023.

·         The organiser will help to print the hard copy poster. No fees will be charged.

  1. Oral presentation (in-person mode)

·         Live oral presentations will be held on 5 December 2023 between 2:45 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. and will be arranged as themed parallel sessions.

·         Each session will last around 75 minutes, and each presentation will be given a timeslot of 15 minutes in total.

 

Background of the event:

The Teaching and Learning Innovation Expo is jointly organised by the Centre for Learning Enhancement And Research (CLEAR), the Centre for eLearning Innovation and Technology (ELITE), and the Information Technology Services Centre (ITSC) of the Chinese University of Hong Kong. As one of the major events held annually at CUHK since 2007, the Expo provides an excellent opportunity and mutually supportive platform for colleagues to exchange ideas, practices and expertise with members of the higher education sector.
