Upgrade of Server Virtualization Infrastructure

One of the two Hyper-Converged Infrastructure (HCI) clusters supporting server virtualization services has been operational for about 5 years and is now approaching the end of its operational cycle. To ensure continuity and enhance performance for the University’s mission-critical systems, a new HCI cluster will be established.

The tendering process has been finalized, and the project is tentatively scheduled for completion by the end of 2025. Following completion, ITSC will seamlessly migrate the virtual machines from the current HCI cluster to the new platform.

The upgraded platform will feature increased processor power, expanded memory, greater storage capacity, and enhanced network bandwidth. These enhancements are expected to significantly boost the overall performance of all the application systems being hosted on the platform.
