The Registry is an important central administrative unit of the University. Currently it comprises three sections: Academic Development and Quality Assurance; UG Admissions & Records; and UG Examinations & Congregation.
 
It is responsible for undergraduate student admission, registration, records, assessments, and congregation for both undergraduate and postgraduate students.
 
It provides administrative and secretarial support to the Senate and most of its standing committees, including the Academic Quality Assurance Committee for Undergraduate Programmes, the Committee on Academic Quality Assurance of Sub-degree Programmes, the Undergraduate Admissions Committee, the Undergraduate Examinations Board, the Discontinuation Appeals Panel, the Student Disciplinary Committee and the Student Disciplinary Appeals Committee.
 
It assists the Senior Management in the preparation and follow-up of Triennium Planning Exercise proposals, Quality Assurance Council Audits (QAC Audits); the preparation of the University Strategic Plan and the monitoring of its implementation; the planning and implementation of University’s academic standards and other academic development initiatives.
 
It publishes the Academic Quality Assurance Manual, the Academic Calendar, and annual programme statistics.
 
It also plays an active role in promoting Lingnan’s academic programmes and engages with the secondary school sector and the local community, such as the University Grants Committee (UGC), the Joint University Programmes Admissions System (JUPAS), and the Education Bureau (EDB), on academic matters.
