Jessica Siu-yin Yeung’s research focuses on fiction and film in twentieth-century Hong Kong, Taiwan, and China, especially cultural memory and intertextuality. Her guest-edited special issue about East Asian comedy film and media, Comedies in East Asian Media: Laughing in Bitter Times, was published at Archiv orientální in 2022. She has published in Archiv orientální, Journal of World Literature, Humans at Work in the Digital Age (Routledge), Cultural Conflict in Hong Kong (Palgrave Macmillan), a/b: Auto/Biography Studies, and Virginia Woolf Miscellany. She is now working on a few essays on Hong Kong and Taiwan literature and cinema during the Cold War and a book on semiotics, queerness, and allegory in Taiwan and Hong Kong novels and cinema.

Henry Kit Fung Chiu is Research Assistant Professor at the Centre for Film and Creative Industries, Lingnan University. He graduated from the Department of Visual Studies at Lingnan University and obtained his Master degree (Dean's list) and PhD from the Chinese University of Hong Kong with a dissertation on pre-war Hong Kong cinema. He is enthusiastic about film history, Hong Kong cinema and popular culture and has been teaching related subjects in different universities upon completion of the doctoral degree, including Hong Kong Baptist University, Hong Kong Polytechnic University and Lingnan University. His articles on Hong Kong cinema have been published by the Hong Kong Film Archive and in Asian Cinema -- a peer-reviewed English journal.

Caroline HA THUC

Dr. Caroline Ha Thuc is an independent art writer, researcher, lecturer and curator. She holds a PhD from the School of Creative Media, City University Hong Kong. Specialized in Asian contemporary art, her field of research focuses on research-based art practices and the emergence of alternative modes of knowledge production in Asia. Her book “Research-based art practices in Southeast Asia: The Artist as Producer of Knowledge” was published in the UK (Palgrave Macmillan, London) in 2022). Shas has published books about the contemporary Japanese, Chinese and Hong Kong art scenes as well as several essays about contemporary Asian art practices. As a curator, she focuses on promoting dialogue between artists from different cultures, while reflecting on social and political contemporary issues. She is now working on a collective artistic research project and touring exhibition dedicated to the culture of Asian cocoa.

畢業於美國加州州立長堤大學,主修繪畫。在洛杉磯與最具影響力的多元文化社區壁畫組織 SPARC工作, 回港後參與個展及聯展。高氏認為自己主要是一個具象和肖像畫家,她也製作混合媒體藝術品,包括裝置, 物件和攝影,以表達她與生俱來對記憶、家族及文化的深刻感受的主題。她的作品展示了她對繪畫和感知、記憶的重建,各方面不同而強烈的興趣和考慮。她也是第一個將美國南加州社區公共壁畫概念及技術引進香港的藝術家,與香港藝術館、香港房屋委員會、香港青年藝術節、香港教育局等合作, 培訓教師和學生。

高氏客籍任教包括香港大學專業進修學院、香港浸會大學、香港理工大學設計系、香港中文大學、RMIT(HK)、香港藝術學院、嶺南大學等等。

高氏獲美國Freeman Foundation Fellowship及嶺南大學駐校藝術家,她的作品由香港藝術館和本地及海外的私人收藏家收藏。

Elaine Yin-Ning KWOK

Kwok, Yin Ning (Elaine) obtained her BA degree (double majors in art history and film studies with First Class Honors), MPhil degree and PhD (in art history on HKU Postgraduate Studentships and University Postgraduate Fellowship) from the University of Hong Kong. She teaches courses on Western and Chinese art history. Since 2014 she has been teaching two MA courses on Chinese art history (before and after 1900). She also taught courses on art theory for the CUHK MA program in Visual Culture Studies; four survey and thematic courses on contemporary Western art history for a BA program at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (offshore campus in Hong Kong) during 2014-2017. For Christie’s Education (Asia) she has taught Western art history on various topics since 2014. Her research interests embrace art history and aesthetics (Western and Chinese), and cross-cultural interaction history between Europe and China. On these subjects, her publications appear in academic journals and publishing institutes including Grove Dictionary of Art, Grove Art Online, Oxford Art Online, Oxford University Press.

Joel Kwong, an international media art curator and transmedia specialist. She is currently the Programme Director for Microwave International New Media Arts Festival (www.microwavefest.net) and the founder of SIBYLS – a creative consultation & production agency. She is an experienced practitioner in media arts for more than 15 years, her rich working experience includes artistic direction, curation, production and teaching in both Hong Kong and many other cities in Asia.

Charles LAI

Charles Lai is a British Architect and researcher in the history and conservation of Hong Kong and Asia modern architecture. He received his PhD degree in architectural history and theory from the University of Hong Kong Department of Architecture, and diploma degree from the AA School of Architecture in London. Charles is currently Partner of the architectural studio a o n a. He is also a member of the DOCOMOMO HK and his researches explore the history of modern architecture in East and Southeast Asia, the material culture and history of Shanghai plaster, as well as the conservation of historical built heritages.

Nanxi Liu is a community art worker, performance artist, researcher, curator, and a Hong Kong Sign Language learner. She has been working in inclusive arts and arts for empowerment since 2013. Her research and practice relates to socially engaged art and psychoanalysis, domestic violence and art therapy, Disability politics and community arts. Now she works as project manager of Centre for Community Cultural Development.

Nga-Wing LAW (Wen Yau)

As a cross-media artist, researcher, curator and writer, wen yau has been concentrating on performance/live art and social practices in the last few years. Her works often grapple with cultural difference and intimacy in public space. Her work has been shown internationally. She is also actively engaged in various creative and arts educational projects and (co-)curated several research-based exhibition projects. She worked as Researcher for Hong Kong and Project Researcher at the Asia Art Archive (2005-2012) and obtained her PhD at the Academy of Visual Arts, Hong Kong Baptist University. In 2015-2016, she served as Fulbright Visiting Scholar at the Performance Studies Department at the Northwestern University, USA. She frequently publishes in periodicals and journals in Hong Kong and around the world, and presents in numerous international academic conferences and panels. wen yau is currently based in Hong Kong and teaches undergraduate and postgraduate courses on contemporary art and performative practices at various institutions. url: www.wenyau.net

Cora Lee received her Bachelor of Arts from the Chinese University of Hong Kong, and Master of Arts in East Asian Art from London Sotheby's Institute of Art, United Kingdom. She also received professional training in Archives Management. She had 8 years’ experience in art curating for Heritage and Museums Division, Leisure and Cultural Services Department, and Hong Kong Polytechnic University; and 5 years’ experience in managing the art gallery and art brand collections. Cora is Head of Education of Hong Kong Maritime Museum who has strong interests in researching and archiving art and historical collections, and museum education.

Leung Chin Fung, Jeff, is an independent curator and part-time lecturer at local universities, he got the B.A (Fine Art) and M.A. (Practical Philosophy) locally. Before teaching and curating, Jeff had worked on exhibition administration and production in art institutions and galleries over ten years, for instance the Hong Kong Pavilion at the ‘Venice Biennale’ (2003) and “1+1: Four Regions Two Strait Artistic Exchange Project” (2010-2011). Jeff is the member of the art critics group Art Appraisal Club and International Association of Art Critics Hong Kong respectively. Rainbow Leung, was born and raised up in Hong Kong. She studied and graduated from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University School of Design 2005 and City University of Hong Kong, School of Creative Media 2008. Rainbow has published “Sha Ha Wo Che Village” in 2009 and “Hong Kong Citizen Dictionary” In 2012. She duplicated the naked lives and different stories of common people throughout observations and interviews then lively interpreted by illustrations with her unpretentious gratitude. In recent years, Rainbow has shared her wisdom of life learned from nature through comics. Her latest work is "Cat and Dog never die" which has won the Hong Kong Publishing Biennial Awards 2021 (Illustration book) and was selected as one of the Top Ten in the 18th Hong Kong Reading City Reading Awards. Rainbow is now an enthusiastic art tutor having her own workshop “Rainbow Connection ” established in 2016. She teaches drawing for students from different age groups and devotes herself to accomplish different educational and community art projects at the same time.

In 2017 Rainbow was commissioned by M+ Museum to run a M+ROVER school tour followed with a wide range of outdoor art activities. This significant event won the Award for Arts Education 2017 from the HK Art Development Council.

NG Ni Na Camellia is an assistant professor at Hong Kong Shue Yan University. She earned a B.A. in Visual Studies and an Mphil in Visual Studies from Lingnan University. She then obtained an M.A. in Art Museum and Gallery Studies from the University of Leicester, followed by a PhD from the Chinese University of Hong Kong. Prior to her current position, she taught at the Department of History at Sun Yat-Sen University for three years. In 2021, Camellia also worked as a curator at the Chamber of Young Snow at Lingnan University.

Pui Ho Fai, Fred, has been working in media industry and part-time lecturer at local universities. He graduated from Hong Kong Shue Yan University with a Bachelor of Art degree in Journalism and Mass Communication, and the Hong Kong Chinese University with a master in Global Political Economy. He is specialized in news reporting, new media environment, and global political economy. One of his Co-writing research《新媒體下的創意︰如何在逆境中突圍而出》has been published on Mass Communication Research by NCCU.
