Moodle Upgrade with New Functionalities
New bulk editing feature of Moodle version 4.2.2
The University’s Learning Management System, Moodle, has been upgraded to version 4.2.2 on 24 December 2024. This upgrade brings several significant improvements and new features designed to enhance the user experience for both teachers and students.
Highlights of the latest Moodle release:
1. Enhanced Course Page Design and Features
- Course page improvements make the process of creating and editing courses more efficient.
- The new bulk editing feature allows teachers to duplicate, delete, move, or change the availability of activities or course sections in bulk. (Figure 1 New bulk editing feature of Moodle version 4.2.2)
2. Gradebook Improvements
Teachers can search for students by name or email, making it easier to manage grades. Additional improvements include a Grader report records per page selector, collapsible columns in the Grader report, and collapsible grade categories in the Gradebook setup.
Feedback to students is now displayed directly in the Gradebook, allowing easy access without changing interfaces.

3. Group Visibility Changes to Support Data Privacy
Teachers can control the visibility of students in certain groups when creating new ones, enhancing data privacy.
