Planning
Our Office has implemented various measures on sustainability in planning, design and construction of campus developments. Prior to the implementation of capital project(s), Environmental Assessment/ Sewage Assessment/ Geotechnical Assessment/ Site Investigations not limited to topography, underground utilities, storm water discharge, have to be studied.
We are committed to promote low-carbon travel between the main campus and its surroundings. We are actively exploring various opportunities for nearby land use, which include the development of institutional areas, comprehensive development zones, and brownfield sites. Our goal is to create additional spaces for teaching and learning facilities through sustainable redevelopment practices.
In planning and design stages, building energy and various environmental criteria has to be evaluated and assessed. Environmental code shall also be adopted for major campus development project(s).
In demolition and construction, the impacts to environments and stakeholders are regulated.
Site Planning
Provision of Hazard Mitigation Measures on Slopes
Lingnan University is sited at sloping areas, environmental- friendly slope management with safety measures were provided. Natural habitat and vegetation are well-preserved.
Natural Landscape Management and Resilient design
Storm water management measures for our University and adjoining hillsides are incorporated in the campus facilities to provide a safe and resilient campus environment
Preservation of existing Cultural Heritage
Existing heritage precinct were preserved and integrated in the site planning of the campus.
Preservation of existing Historical Heritage
Historical barrack near the campus is respected.
