LU Service Day 2021

Service Day

In support of Lingnan University’s motto “Education for Service”, volunteer-service related student societies and devoted students, including LU Wofoo Leaders’ Network (LUWLN), Uni-Y and Lingnan C.Connects, coordinate with OSA to organize service projects in LU Service Day. We are inviting students, especially freshmen to make wonderful results in volunteering. We care for others, to make a positive impact for the betterment of humanity.

In this year, we are going to have 6 different service projects to be run under the LU Service Day. Let's join hands with your fellows to serve our community together!

Stereotypes towards ex-mentally ill people, however, never cease to exist in society. Through this online activity, volunteers will have a chance to interact with people in recovery of mental illnesses through team-building games and DIY anti-epidemic products sessions. It is hoped that students’ awareness of mental health and understanding of people in recovery can be enhanced, thereby reducing social prejudice towards people in recovery of mental illness. It is always our hope that a socially-inclusive community can be built.

Together We Build a More Sustainable Future

Most, if not all, children receive red packets from relatives during Chinese New Year. At the same time, children may also encounter empty milk carton boxes in their daily lives. Instead of throwing the red packet envelops and the milk carton boxes away, we aim to spread the idea of ‘reuse’ among kids. In this activity, volunteers will join two online workshops and teach the children in making handicrafts through red packet envelops and milk carton boxes. Please join us in this meaningful and interesting activity!
