嶺大表揚研究及知識轉移成就卓越的學者
主禮嘉賓為「卓越研究及知識轉移頒獎典禮暨知識轉移／創業項目展覽」揭開序幕。
嶺南大學（嶺大）非常重視具社會影響力，並展現對社區關懷的研究和知識轉移。校方表揚72位教職員於2021/22及2022/23學年，在研究和知識轉移方面取得卓越成就，提升大眾的生活質素及對社會作出貢獻。
在「卓越研究及知識轉移頒獎典禮暨知識轉移／創業項目展覽」上，大學頒發三個獎項，分別為「卓越研究成果獎」、「青年研究者獎」，以及「研究和知識轉移項目基金獎」。
研究資助局主席黃玉山教授、大學教育資助委員會秘書長鄧特抗教授出席典禮作主禮嘉賓，並與嶺大校董會主席姚祖輝先生、嶺大校長鄭國漢教授及嶺大副校長莫家豪教授等一同主持亮燈儀式，為得獎者致以祝賀。
研究資助局主席黃玉山教授致賀辭時，感謝鄭國漢校長及莫家豪副校長對推動研究發展、在校內建立研究文化，以及建立研究基礎設施作出努力。他說：「嶺大在最新的『泰晤士高等教育大學影響力排名』中，在『優質教育』一項位列全球第三；在2020年研究評審工作中亦取得了重大進步，我深信嶺大在跨學科研究的各方面能夠作出重大貢獻。」
鄧特抗教授讚賞嶺大在創新創意範疇作出貢獻，惠及各界。他表示：「嶺大卓越的研究團隊貢獻他們的專業知識，將研究成果轉化為實際應用，值得一提的是嶺大的重點項目，為聽障人士而設的全透明抗新冠肺炎病毒口罩，以及發明輪椅把手感應系統，分別在日內瓦國際發明展上奪得金、銀獎，這些成果反映嶺南人追求以人為本的學術精神，讓香港引以為傲。
姚祖輝主席致開幕辭時表示，嶺大憑藉強大的科研能力，加上與大灣區內大學建立合作夥伴關係，大學將會致力加強於灣區內外推動創業生態系統發展。他表示：「我們將會在深圳建立一個全新的研究和學習中心，探索及推進國際性合作，進一步實踐知識轉移的工作，為社區生活帶來裨益。這些舉措將有助我們與業界和持份者相互交流，幫助我們成長發展。」
鄭國漢校長表示，嶺大的學生和教研人員對高質素研究的執著，他一直深感自豪。他說：「他們過去一年的成果是有目共睹的，在2022/23年度中，嶺大從研究資助局競逐研究資助計劃中取得破紀錄的37個項目，獲得超過1600萬元的資助，創歷年新高。」鄭校長又表示，嶺大學者不斷在著名學術期刊上發表經同行評審的論文，有助於提升其在國際學術界的地位，也為制定公共政策作出貢獻。他說：「更讓我感到欣慰的是，看到我們的學者與政府和業界尋求合作，建立夥伴關係。我們很欣喜授予特殊獎項，表彰他們在官產學研合作中所付出的努力。」
莫家豪副校長於閉幕辭時，鼓勵一眾師生緊密合作，透過發表具影響力的研究建設一個更美好的社會。他表示：「今天我們在這裡慶祝，也不要忘記其他教研人員一直在默默耕耘。為建設一個強大的研究團隊，嶺大一直給予他們支持，攜手建立一個更強大的研究團隊服務廣大社區，並教育年輕一代，幫助他們對改善社會狀況有更深入了解。」
