Research Assessment Exercise 2026

The Research Assessment Exercise (RAE) is a commitment of the University Grants Committee (UGC) to promoting world-class research and driving excellence in UGC-funded universities through comprehensive peer review by international benchmarks. Since 1993, the UGC has conducted six RAEs (in 1993, 1996, 1999, 2006, 2014 and 2020). For the upcoming RAE 2026, the census date for reported data is 30 September 2025. The results will be used to inform the distribution of part of the research portion of the UGC Block Grant to universities.

b) Impact (20%): 1 Oct 2019 - 30 Sep 2025 (impact created in this period and underpinned by research undertaken at, or significantly supported by, the university during the period from 1 Jan 2006 to 30 Sep 2025) 

c) Environment (15%): 1 Oct 2019 - 30 Sep 2025
