Launch of three promotional videos

The Faculty of Social Sciences launched its YouTube Channel on 19 January 2023. (YouTube Channel: Faculty of Social Sciences, Lingnan University)

The Faculty of Social Sciences published three promotional videos on the Faculty YouTube Channel, Faculty webpage and social media platforms. The videos introduce the curricular diversity of our Majors from student and alumni perspectives, focusing on their learning experiences of the exchange programmes, service-learning and internships.

To broaden the appeal of the three promotional videos, different languages were used (English, Cantonese, Putonghua) to enhance their relevancy for other groups of students.

TRANSITION FROM BROAD-BASED TO STANDALONE ADMISSIONS

The Programme had a smooth transition from broad-based to standalone admissions for First-Year-First-Degree (FYFD) Programmes with effect from the 2022 intake. The early signs after the shift towards standalone admissions have been encouraging. The mean admission scores of the six Majors' best five subjects (without relevancy weights) were very satisfactory. Psychology ranked the highest within the Programme and second among all Lingnan Programmes. In addition, Psychology and Sociology were ranked second and third among the top five most competitive programmes in Lingnan.
