Prof Yau

Professor YAU Yung, Simon
Professor of Urban Studies

It is my great pleasure to embark on a new journey in Lingnan University. Before joining the university in August 2021, I had worked in City University of Hong Kong for 14 years. My research spans across several different areas involving multi-owned housing governance, informal housing, urban planning and renewal, proenvironmental behaviour and disability discrimination. In spite of my professional background in surveying, I like to label myself as a housing researcher and an inclusion advocate. Currently, I am working on a funded research project that explores the social determinants of residents’ anti-social behaviour in Hong Kong’s residential communities. Also, I am about to initiate a series of studies on sub-divided flats and third-sector housing. Through my research and community engagement, I hope to bring social impacts that turn Hong Kong into a better city for all.
