Hong Kong PhD Fellowship Scheme (HKPFS)

 

The Hong Kong PhD Fellowship Scheme (HKPFS), established by the Research Grants Council (RG) of the HKSAR Government in 2009, aims to attract the best and brightest students worldwide to pursue their PhD studies in Hong Kong. We are proud that the following three students were selected for this prestigious Award.

Excellent Social Sciences Student Award, AY2022-23

 

 

The Excellent Social Sciences Student Award was established to recognise students’ excellent performance in their academic, community or university contribution. We extend our warmest greetings to Ms. Lai Wanting, majoring in Economics, for being selected as the Excellent Social Sciences Student of the Year.

 

Best Senior Thesis Award, AY2022

 

 

The Office of the Faculty of Social Sciences offers the Best Senior Thesis Award each year to encourage final-year students to write a quality Senior Thesis. In AY2021-22, Mr. Kwong Ho Wang, majoring in Sociology, and Ms. Lam Wing Kiu, majoring in Psychology, were selected by the Panel to recognise their achievements for the high quality of their Senior Thesis.

 

The Supervisors and Faculty members shared the joy with them at the Presentation Ceremony on 24 November 2022.  


DEPARTMENT OF ECONOMICS
 

The MSc. in International Banking and Finance (MIBF) Programme Scholarships, AY2022-23

 

The Department of Economics has awarded Economics graduate Mr. SIT Wang Lok the MSc. in International Banking and Finance (MIBF) Programme Scholarship for pursuing the MIBF Programme at Lingnan University in AY2022-23.

 

This scholarship provides a full tuition waiver plus a stipend of HKD50,000 to assist the awardees in paying the expenses related to their study at the Programme.


DEPARTMENT OF GOVERNMENT AND INTERNATIONAL AFFAIRS
 

Belt and Road Scholarship (Research Postgraduate)

 

Mr. AHMED Tewodros Woldearegay, PhD Student at the Department of Government and International Affairs (GOV), won the Belt and Road Scholarship (Research Postgraduate) from the HKSAR Government Scholarship Fund in 2022-23, recognising his excellent academic performance and contribution to the University and the Hong Kong community. Congratulations!
