Executive Speakers Forum Series #1: Winning Career Preparation in the ESG Field

On February 12, 2025, the Taught Postgraduate Programmes Office (TPO) of the Faculty of Business at Lingnan University held the first session of the Executive Speakers Forum for the 2024-25 academic year. The theme of the first guest lecture was "Winning Career Preparation in the ESG Field," and it featured Prof. HO Ho-ming, Stan, an expert in the ESG field. Prof. HO is a seasoned investment banking and credit rating expert who has held senior management positions at global and Chinese credit rating agencies, with extensive experience in Chinese credit rating, capital market trading, green finance, and ESG rating. 

At the beginning of the event, Prof. SHI Shanshan, Associate Dean of the Faculty of Business, expressed sincere thanks to Prof. HO on behalf of all TPO faculty members, and presented him with a certificate of appreciation in recognition of his contributions to the guest lecture. 

During the lecture, Prof. HO provided detailed insights into the employment opportunities and key participants in the ESG field, thoroughly analyzing the current state of the industry. He encouraged students to closely monitor industry job postings and highlighted the Hong Kong government's strong focus on cultivating ESG talent. He outlined various career paths in the ESG field and specifically analyzed the positions available in the current market.

Furthermore, Prof. HO provided guidance on resume preparation to students, emphasizing the importance of differentiation and highlighting one's strengths. He encouraged students to obtain professional qualifications, noting the high level of professionalism in ESG field affairs. He also advised students to actively immerse themselves in the industry to gain valuable experience, regardless of the company's level of recognition. The lecture received enthusiastic support and active participation from faculty and students. During the interactive session, students asked questions enthusiastically and expressed their opinions actively. 

After the lecture, students took the opportunity to engage in discussions with Prof. HO. This open dialogue not only sparked students' interest in learning about ESG but also boosted their confidence in future career development.
