LUBCC 2025: The Presentation Day and Award Presentation Ceremony

The Presentation Day and Award Presentation Ceremony of the Lingnan University Business Case Competition (LUBCC) 2025 was successfully held on 12 April 2025, showcasing the innovative spirit and analytical powers of the participants.

What is LUBCC 2025?

LUBCC 2025, sponsored by CPA Australia Ltd, is a business case competition co-organised by the Taught Postgraduate Programmes Office (TPO) of the Faculty of Business and the Hong Kong Institute of Business Studies (HKIBS). This year, the following four leading organisations from the government and the business sectors are the supporting organisations of the competition: (listed in alphabetical order)

• Hang Heung Cake Shop Company Limited

• Hoi Tin Tong

• Regional Crime Prevention Office (New Territories North) of the Hong Kong Police Force (RCPO)

• Sa Sa Cosmetic Company Limited

This year, 368 students, divided into 80 teams, signed up for the competition. Compared to last year’s competition, the number of participants increased by about 30% this year. This is a very encouraging result, showing that more students are eager to challenge themselves and apply what they learn in theory to the real-life business problems.

The Presentation Day and Award Presentation Ceremony

The event commenced with the opening remarks by Prof. LENG Mingming, Dean of the Faculty of Business, Lingnan University. Following the opening, the spotlight turned to the finalist teams.

This year, 6 teams from the Associate Degree and Undergraduate (AD & UG) Division and 6 teams from the Research Postgraduate and Taught Postgraduate Division (RPg & TPg) were shortlisted respectively to enter into the final round of the competition. Each team presented their analysis of the real-life business challenge shared by the respective supporting organisation and their recommendations for the problem identified. The presentations were a testament to the participants’ dedication, teamwork, and strategic thinking. The final judging panel, comprising industry experts and academics, engaged with the teams through insightful questions and feedback.

The event concluded with the much-anticipated Award Presentation Ceremony. Prizes were awarded to the top-performing teams in various categories, recognizing their exceptional analyses and innovative strategies.

At the end of the ceremony, Prof. LIANG Li Ping, Director of the Hong Kong Institute of Business Studies (HKIBS) of the Faculty of Business, Lingnan University, delivered her closing remarks for the event. Prof. LIANG congratulated all awardees for their outstanding performance in the competition and gave thanks to all staff and guests for their efforts and contributions which made the event a success.

The LUBCC 2025 Presentation Day and Award Ceremony not only honoured the achievements of its participants but also reinforced the Faculty’s commitment to nurturing future leaders equipped to tackle global challenges.
