Faculty of Business ranks 32nd (in China) and 242nd (in the world) in the "UTD Top 100 Business School Research Rankings"

According to the latest announcement of The UTD top 100 Worldwide Business School Rankings Based on Research Contributions (2020-2024), Lingnan University’s Faculty of Business ranks 32nd in China and 242nd in the world. This prestigious ranking not only acknowledges our outstanding performance in key areas of business research, but also reaffirms our significant position in the international academic community.

The UTD Business School Research Ranking, published by the University of Texas at Dallas (UTD), is a significant research benchmark for business schools around the world. The ranking is based on the total number of academic papers published in the UTD 24 journals and the extent of authors’ contributions from each business school over the past five consecutive years. Released annually, the ranking is highly recognized among academic institutions globally.

Our exceptional ranking performance is a testament to our long-standing commitment to research and capacity building. Over the past five years (2020-2024), our faculty has published a total of 20 high-quality papers in the UTD 24 journals, marking a significant increase compared to the previous decade (2010-2019), which recorded a total of 23 papers. Despite our relatively small faculty size, with fewer scholars than other business schools, we have excelled amidst intense competition, demonstrating our strong academic and research capabilities. This achievement has garnered wide international recognition, reflecting consistent improvement in our faculty’s research capacity.

Professor S. Professor Mingming LENG, Dean of the Faculty of Business and Chair Professor of Operations and Risk Management, stated, "Faculty of Business at Lingnan University continually strives to world-class standards in business research. The Faculty of Business offers a diverse range of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, including the Bachelor of Business Administration (Honors), Bachelor of Business Administration - Risk and Insurance Management (Honors), ten taught postgraduate programmes, as well as MPhil and PhD degree programmes. These programmes are designed to develop students' professional skills and practical abilities, while also aiming to cultivate business talents with global perspectives and innovative spirits.

Since 2011, the Faculty has been accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), placing it among the top 5% of business schools worldwide. Additionally, the Faculty established the Lingnan chapter of Beta Gamma Sigma and received the Highest Honors Chapter award for the 2021/22 and 2023/24 academic years.
