Lingnan University’s Honorary Fellowship Presentation Ceremony 2016 was held today (6 October), during which the University conferred honorary fellowships upon four distinguished individuals in recognition of their outstanding achievements in their respective professions and valuable contributions to the well-being of society.

Recipients of Lingnan University’s Honorary Fellowship this year are Mr Chan Wo-pingDr Eddy Li Sau-hung, BBS, JP, Ms Gigi Tung Oi-lai and Mr Chris Yeung Wai-kee.

Dr Eddy Li Sau-hung, BBS, JP delivered an address at the Ceremony on behalf of the honorary fellows and expressed their gratitude to the University for conferring upon them the honour. Dr Li pointed out that apart from being knowledgeable, future leaders also need to possess admirable human qualities in order to lead our society. Education aims not only to spread knowledge, but more importantly, to nurture the soul. “Lingnan University is the only liberal arts university in Hong Kong, cultivating students’ critical thinking and versatility as well as values and a sense of social responsibility. I am fully supportive of these qualities,” said Dr Li.

The ceremony, presided over by Mr Rex Auyeung Pak-kuen, Chairman of the University Council, was held at Chan Tak Tai Auditorium on the campus of Lingnan University.
