Lingnan Study Shows Growth Mindset Exercises Support Quarantined Individuals
A Lingnan University study of 125 quarantined participants found that simple online growth and gratitude mindset exercises significantly improved psychological wellbeing and reduced loneliness. Those completing multiple exercises showed the strongest benefits, demonstrating the effectiveness of LU’s self assessment tool in supporting mental health during isolation.

This conference highlights the growing need for evidence based psychological research to address stress, chronic health issues, and post pandemic challenges. Prof Ruby Lai and Hong Kong artists Miu Law and Victor Sham present “My Belongings, My Sound Stories in 118.4 sq.ft.”, an exhibition revealing the lived experiences of subdivided flat residents. Based on research involving over 50 households, the project raises awareness of housing policies and encourages public engagement.

How "You" Shapes Peer Review Communication
A Lingnan University study analysing over 25,000 peer review exchanges with Nature Communications found that authors who use second person pronouns receive fewer questions, shorter replies, and more positive feedback. The findings show that “you” creates a more personal, engaging dialogue, influencing communication and reviewer behavior.

Lingnan Advances Medical Social Collaboration for Healthy Ageing

Lingnan Launches Age Friendly City Seminar Series in Indonesia
Lingnan University’s School of Graduate Studies and Indonesian partners hosted the first of four seminars to promote age friendly cities and healthy aging. With over 140 participants, the hybrid event shared Hong Kong and Indonesian insights. The series will train AFC ambassadors to advance community based, age friendly practices across Indonesia.

Lingnan University Develops GeoAI Platform to Provide Real-Time Mosquito Risk Mapping for Hong Kong
Lingnan University's GeoAI Cloud Analytics Platform uses real-time data from smart mosquito traps and public reports to generate a Mosquito Risk Index and Map, helping the public avoid high-risk areas and assisting Hong Kong in predicting and controlling mosquito-borne diseases.

Support for Special Educational Needs (SEN) students
LU provides full support and services for students with special needs, from help with learning and career advice to scholarships, and financial assistance for activities and events, ensuring every student has an equal opportunity to learn, enjoy their social life and progress during their studies at Lingnan.
