In his welcoming remarks, Prof Leonard K Cheng, President of LU expressed his heartfelt gratitude to Dr Raymond Wong for his generous donation towards nurturing outstanding professionals for arts, technology and business industries in Hong Kong. “Arts Tech has entered the HKSAR government’s cultural policy as a strategic development direction for the cultural and creative industries. The Faculty of Business of LU actively supports the government's development direction to develop and cultivate professionals for Hong Kong and the region. We will establish the first interdisciplinary master's programme focusing on arts technology and business in Hong Kong in the coming academic year (2023/24). We believe that combining the strengths of LU and Tsinghua University will surely foster a new generation of art managers and business leaders proficient in the cultural and creative industries. We look forward to the first batch of students who will have a comprehensive introduction to up-to-date knowledge in arts, technology and related fields, practising, studying, innovating and establishing networks and an ecosystem of arts and technology,” Prof Cheng said.

Arts Tech has become the HKSAR government’s strategic cultural policy, and the Faculty of Business of LU (the Faculty) responding enthusiastically to new trends and policies, setting in motion new programmes for cultivating talent using the "industry-university-research" approach, and launching the Master of Science in Arts Technology and Business programme in 2023/24 academic year. The programme connects the Faculty’s excellent business education with Tsinghua University Academy of Arts & Design’s prospective art master courses so as to nurture future leaders with rigorous commercial capabilities, an entrepreneurial and innovative mindset, and the ability to appreciate and explore Arts Tech in order to facilitate the fast-changing art and creative scene in Greater China and Asia.
