Lingnan University participated in the Medical and Healthcare Fair 2023

Lingnan University (LU) joined the HKTDC Hong Kong International Medical and Healthcare Fair 2023 during 16-18 May 2023. This annual fair showcased the latest medical equipment, rehab and healthcare products and advanced technologies from leading suppliers, universities and innovative startups. LU promoted various research and community projects related to SDG 3 ‘good health and wellbeing’, which covered gerontechnology and smart ageing in place, ageing-health management and promotion, health and financial education, and age-friendly city development.

The medical fair allows the university to showcase how the University contributes strengths to lead different forms of collaboration and create research impact for healthcare ecosystem development. LU’s Jockey Club Gerontechnology and Smart Ageing in Place Project (GTSA) team strived hard to collaborate with local gerontech start-ups, invite the trained gerontechnology ambassadors to join research and development process, and work together with the tech developers to provide user feedback for the gerontech advancement and innovation. In this medical fair, the GTSA team worked with the gerontech ambassadors and students to join the gerontech developers and share the collaboration experiences and issues of the research through the showcase and forum. In addition, the LU Jockey Club Health and Financial Education Programme for Elderly team also invited student volunteers to share the healthcare and financial needs of the Hong Kong older adults so as to achieve intergenerational cohesion.
