Research Assessment Exercise 2026

As Lingnan University prepares for the upcoming Research Assessment Exercise (RAE) 2026, the Information Technology Services Centre (ITSC) has taken a central role in developing and enhancing the digital infrastructure that underpins the submission process. In collaboration with the UGC, ITSC has successfully implemented the University Repository, which is now undergoing User Acceptance Testing (UAT). This secure platform enables encrypted file hosting and transmission to the RAE Electronic System (RAEES), using access tokens and checksum validation to ensure data integrity and compliance with RAEES protocols. The repository also supports external assessors in accessing research materials efficiently and securely.

Meanwhile, ITSC is actively enhancing the Internal Submission System, with a targeted launch by September 2025. This system is designed to streamline the preparation and validation of RAE submission data across multiple categories, including research outputs, impact case studies, staff lists, and environment statements. Integrated with Lingnan Scholars, the platform allows faculty members and administrative units to supplement and verify data, ensuring completeness and accuracy. The system is modular, with dedicated components for each submission type, and includes built-in validation and conversion tools to meet the technical specifications set by RAEES.

Together, these systems form a robust digital backbone for Lingnan’s RAE 2026 submission. ITSC’s proactive engagement with the UGC ensures that Lingnan’s infrastructure remains aligned with evolving requirements, while also contributing to the broader enhancement of the RAEES platform. Through these efforts, ITSC continues to support the University’s commitment to research excellence and institutional readiness.
