International Day 2023: Engaging the world

On 1 November, the Office of Global Education and the Office of Student Affairs of Lingnan University organised the annual International Day 2023, which attracted around 300 participants. This year’s theme was “Engaging the world”, and Lingnan students from different countries and regions displayed their rich cultural heritages in 13 interactive booths. There were also Korean pop dancing and Indian dancing performances, as well as music played by students from Kazakhstan, truly reflecting Lingnan’s multicultural spirit.

 

 

Amina Satarova (left), a third-year student of the Department of Digital Arts and Creative Industries from Kyrgyzstan, shares that this is the third time she has taken part in International Day: ‘’I am very happy that I can share my culture with other people.’’ She is excited that there are more booths this year, and that students can taste different foods.

 

‘’I think this event is very enjoyable, because all the students are very interested in other countries,’’ says Fernanda Barradas (left), a Year 4 Business Administration student from Mexico, and hopes to take this opportunity to introduce the Mexican culture to more people.
