LU hosts gerontechnology conference and opens Gerontech-X Lab
LU organised a two-day conference entitled “Gerontechnology Conference⸺Partnership Strategies for a Collaborative Society’ on 15 and 16 April 2021 gathering outstanding local and international experts and scholars to discuss key issues of ageing and gerontechnology.
The opening ceremony of the 2,000-square-foot “LU Jockey Club Gerontech-X Lab” on LU campus was also held on the first day of the conference, with Dr Lam Ching-choi, Chairman of the Elderly Commission and Mr Leong Cheung, Executive Director, Charities and Community of The Hong Kong Jockey Club as officiating guests.
The conference also featured booth activities showcasing a wide range of gerontechnology products designed by students from five primary and secondary schools, including a “smart shopping cart” and an “infrared-based automatic motion-tracking system”.
