Lingnan University to Confer Honorary Fellowship On Four Distinguished Individuals

The Lingnan University Honorary Fellowship Presentation Ceremony today (17 October) conferred the honorary fellowships on four distinguished individuals, namely, Dr Lily CHIANG, Mr Michael HUI Koon-man, Ms Sophia KAO Ching-chi and Dr NG Tat-lun, in recognition of their outstanding achievements and significant contribution to the education and well being of society.

The Deputy Chairman of the Council, The Hon Bernard Charnwut CHAN, officiated at the Ceremony. The other officiating guests included the President of the University, Prof. Edward CHEN and the Treasurer of the Council, Mr YEUNG Kai-cheung, Patrick.

The recipients of the Lingnan University Honorary Fellowship 2005-06 are (in alphabetical order):

Dr. Lily CHIANG
Mr. Michael HUI Koon-man
Ms Sophia KAO Ching-chi
Dr. NG Tat-lun

At the Ceremony, Dr. Chiang delivered an address on behalf of the Honorary Fellows. She highly praised Lingnan's liberal arts education missions where students are nurtured to become whole persons with independent and critical thinking. These fine qualities will enable students to act responsibly, and care for the others. Dr. Chiang also quoted the words of Confucius and Zengzi to share her thoughts about learning attitude and moral nurturing.
