Lingnan University Faculty of Business leaps into Top 20 in UTD Chinese Business School Rankings based on research contributions

In the latest UTD Top 100 Worldwide Business School Rankings Based on Research Contributions 2024, Lingnan University’s Faculty of Business came 19th in China, a giant leap of 23 places from 42th in 2023, based on its outstanding research and global influence. This feat not only acknowledges the Faculty of Business’s considerable achievements, but also reaffirms its important international academic position.

The UTD Business School Research Ranking is an authoritative assessment of the research strengths of business schools worldwide, published by the University of Texas at Dallas (UTD). It is based on the total number of academic papers published in the 24 top international business journals, and the author contributions of each business school. Released annually, the ranking is widely recognised by global education management.

The excellent performance of Lingnan’s Faculty of Business is attributed to its longstanding and ongoing priorities in research. In 2024, it published 11 major papers in the 24 UTD journals, where its winning research team and considerable accomplishments stood out despite intense competition, earning worldwide exposure for research strengths and continued steady improvement overall.

Joe Qin, President and Wai Kee Kau Chair Professor of Data Science of Lingnan University, said "It is worth celebrating that the Faculty of Business, despite its relatively small size, ranks on par with many renowned universities in Europe, America, China, and Canada. Prof Leng Mingming, Dean of the Faculty of Business and Chair Professor of Operations and Risk Management of Lingnan University, said that the Faculty of Business has been actively recruiting top-tier international academic talents, as well as strengthening collaboration with internationally known universities and researchers to push the boundaries of knowledge. The Faculty has also kept abreast of digital trends, and launched a series of valuable digital business research topics.
