Lingnan University to hold Shenzhen and Guangzhou undergraduate admissions information sessions on 16 and 17 May

Lingnan University will organise Undergraduate Admissions Information Sessions and On-site Application Guidance Workshops on Saturday 16 and Sunday 17 May so as to provide high school students, their parents, and education professionals in Shenzhen and Guangzhou with a comprehensive overview of the latest university developments, the Samuel C.C. Ting Elite Class (CCT Class), distinctive features of its undergraduate curriculum, admissions policies and requirements, residential arrangements, scholarship schemes, and student learning and living experiences in Hong Kong.

Prof S. Joe Qin, President and Wai Kee Kau Chair Professor of Data Science, and Prof Xin Yao, Vice-President (Research and Innovation) and Tong Tin Sun Chair Professor of Machine Learning will tell the students and their parents about Lingnan’s educational philosophy and recent progress. Faculty representatives, admissions officers, and current students will also be there to give prospective applicants practical advice.

A highlight will be the on-site application consultation and guidance segment of the event. The admissions team will offer professional advice on programme selection and application procedures, explaining the more important things to consider and giving tips for completing the applications. Students and parents are encouraged to print out the online application form in advance and bring it to the venue.

Lingnan University has expanded substantially in recent years. In its debut participation in the Times Higher Education (THE) Asia University Rankings 2026, it was ranked 84th, placing it among the top 100 universities in Asia, and in the 301–350 band globally, with its “International Outlook” ranking 47th worldwide. In addition, Lingnan came first worldwide in “SDG 4: Quality Education” in the THE University Impact Rankings 2025.

• Meet the University leadership in person: Prof S. Joe Qin and Prof Xin Yao will meet attendees.

• Theme: “Integrating AI and Education: Exploring World-Class Quality Education”: Discussing Lingnan’s vision, talent development approach, and latest advancements.

• Faculty representatives on site: Personalised advice on programme selection.

• In-depth programme introductions: Faculty members will explain curriculums and disciplinary strengths, and answer questions on academic pathways and career prospects.

• Admissions insights: The admissions team will explain policies, requirements, application procedures, residential arrangements, scholarship opportunities, and other key information.

• One-on-one application guidance: Help with completing application forms.

• On-site assistance for submitting applications: Students may bring printed online application forms for personalised guidance on completing forms and preparing documents.

• First-hand advice from present students: Current students will describe their studies and life in Hong Kong – on campus, residential experiences, and personal growth, offering an authentic perspective on Lingnan’s learning environment and campus culture.
