Deferment of Tuition Fee / Hostel Fee

Deferment of Tuition Fee

(For local full-time students enrolled in UGC-funded programmes)

 

Eligibility

Applicants of government financial assistance (Tertiary Student Finance Scheme - Publicly-funded Programmes (TSFS) or Non-means-tested Loan Scheme for Full-time Tertiary Students (NLSFT)) who are in financial difficulties and are unable to settle their tuition fee before the payment due date are eligible to apply for deferment.

Application period

Office of Student Affairs will advise students of the application period through emails.

Application Regulations

Successful students will be allowed to defer payment of tuition fee for a period up to three months after the due date, or until they have received Government grant or loans, whichever is earlier.

 

Deferment of Hostel Fee

(For local students enrolled in full-time UGC-funded programmes only)

 

Eligibility

Applicants of Tertiary Student Finance Scheme - Publicly-funded Programmes (TSFS) who are in financial difficulties and are unable to settle their hostel fee before the payment due date are eligible to apply for deferment.

Application period

Office of Student Affairs will advise students of the application period through emails.

Application Regulations

  1. Successful students will be allowed to defer their hostel fee for a period up to three months after the due date, or until they have received Government grant or loans, whichever is earlier.

  2. Research postgraduate students under PhD Fellowship and Postgraduate Studentship are not required to apply for deferment of hostel fee.  25% of each term’s hostel fee will be automatically deducted from the monthly PhD Fellowship/Postgraduate Studentship for a consecutive period of four months from September to December in term 1 and similarly from January to April in term 2, in settlement of hostel fee.
