Lingnan University and Sungkyunkwan University co-organise the 3rd Joint Symposium, sharing research on AI ethics and happiness motivations

he Departments of Psychology at Lingnan University and Sungkyunkwan University (SKKU) extended their long-standing academic partnership with the 3rd Joint Symposium in Seoul on 7 May 2026, chaired by Prof Kim Minue, Associate Professor of the Department of Psychology at SKKU. Scholars from both universities were invited to discuss their research, and dozens of MPhil and PhD students from the SKKU’s Department of Psychology attended.

Prof Jay Xu Jie, Associate Professor of the Department of Psychology at Lingnan University, described seven experimental studies examining the moral influence of AI on human beings. These find that people are more inclined to adopt advice from real human beings than from AI, which has limited persuasive power in social decisions.
