A five-year partnership agreement signed between Lingnan University and Renmin University of China on 8 April to promote collaboration on academic and student exchange

 

The ‘Postgraduate Student Exchange Programme’ Partnership Agreement was signed by Professor Oi-Ling Siu, Head of the Department of Applied Psychology, Lingnan University and Professor Hu Ping, Head of Department of Psychology, Renmin University of China in a signing ceremony held in Lingnan University. Professor Leonard K Cheng, President of Lingnan University, Professor Joshua Ka-Ho Mok, Vice-President of Lingnan University, Professor Sharma Shalendra, Associate Vice-President (Academic Quality Assurance and Internationalisation) of Lingnan University and Professor Wei Xiangdong, Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences, Lingnan University attended the ceremony and witnessed the signing of the agreement. Other attending guests include Professor Li Huanhuan and Professor Wen Xiaotong, Associate Heads of Department of Psychology, Renmin University of China, Professor Li Jie, Associate Professor of Department of Psychology, Renmin University of China, Professor Ng Sik-hung, Visiting Chair Professor of Department of Psychology, Renmin University of China and his spouse, Mrs Grace Ng, and Professor Gao Dingguo, Dean of the Department of Psychology, Sun Yat-Sen University.  Academic staff and postgraduate students from Department of Applied Psychology, Lingnan University also witnessed the ceremony.

 

The two signing parties agreed to:

  • promote student and staff exchange in education, research and professional development;
  • invite research and teaching staff to organise or participate in academic or discipline-related events such as meetings, seminars, internships and workshops, etc.;
  • explore collaboration on postgraduate student exchange programme; and
  • explore the demand and launch plan of joint programmes, such as selecting suitable undergraduate and postgraduate students to participate in training or research of partner institution, promote exchange and collaboration on research, etc., of postgraduate and doctorate students with students and professors of partner institution.  

 

The signing ceremony was held in Amenities Building, Paul S. Lam Conference Centre. After the ceremony, the two parties and guests joined lunch, followed by a discussion session between the signing parties on collaboration and course development.
