LU granted Gold Certificate at Privacy-Friendly Awards

Lingnan University has received a Gold Certificate from the inaugural Privacy-Friendly Awards by Office of the Privacy Commissioner for Personal Data (PCPD) for its achievements in protecting personal data privacy as part of the University’s policy and culture.


A Gold Certificate awardee must fulfil at least four out of five criteria: at least one Data Protection Officer or a dedicated department for data protection, have discussed matters relating to personal data privacy with the Board of Directors or at the highest decision-making level in the organisation, have publicly stated the maximum period it will hold any kind of personal data, have put in place a data security breach notification mechanism and written policy, and have provided training or education for staff on personal data privacy protection.


LU welcomes the PCPD’s recognition, and will maintain its commitment to protecting the personal data privacy and rights of its stakeholders.
