Lingnan University gaining NSFC Supporting Institution status

Lingnan University is happy to announce that it has been selected to be a Supporting Institution (Hong Kong and Macau) (港澳地區依託單位) of the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) (國家自然科學基金委員會).

This significant achievement follows a rigorous review on the University’s research and management strength, and shall open up a plethora of research and funding opportunities for our scholars. As an NSFC Supporting Institution, Lingnan researchers would now be eligible to apply for these project funds:

1.     NSFC Young Scientists Fund

In support of young scientists to freely choose their research topics within NSFC’s funding scope to carry out innovative basic research to cultivate future leaders in independent research projects

2.     NSFC Excellent Young Scientists Fund

In support of young scholars with good achievements in basic research to conduct innovative research in their areas of interest in preparation to become academic talents at the forefront of global science and technology

3.     NSFC Distinguished Young Scientists Fund

In support of young scholars with outstanding achievements in basic research to conduct creative research in subjects of their choice to encourage overseas talents and foster prominent academic pacemakers in the scientific and technological sphere

The new status of NSFC Supporting Institution marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter that underlines our scientific research strengths and reaffirms our position as a leading research-intensive liberal arts university.
