Gerontechnology Carnival: celebrating festival with intergenerations

Lingnan University's Jockey Club Gerontechnology and Smart Ageing in Place Project team organised a Gerontech Carnival in Tai Wai, Shatin District, on 14 February 2025.

This pivotal event, supported by the Hang Seng University of Hong Kong (HSUHK) and Wollongong College Hong Kong (UOWCHK), was held at the UOWCHK campus, showcasing the latest advancements in gerontechnology and innovative solutions that enhance the quality of life for the elderly.

The event attracted over 200 participants, including more than a hundred seniors, caregivers, university students, and community members.

Beyond being an exhibition, it also served as a platform for seniors to engage with innovative solutions that can support their independence and well-being on Valentine's Day.

The team collaborated with various gerontech companies and NGOs (as listed) to bring together a diverse group of participants to explore the future of elderly technology. The event reinforced Lingnan University's position in collaboration with other higher education institutions to promote gerontechnology and eldercare, showcasing their commitment to improving the lives of older adults through innovative solutions and community engagement.
