Lingnan University Flag Guard Team secures 1st Runner-Up (Marching Step Group) in the Tertiary Institutions Category at the “2026 National Security Education Day Hong Kong Army Cadets National Flag Raising Competition”

As Hong Kong’s first university student flag raising team, the Lingnan University Flag Guard Team continues to shine. On 12 April 2026, members of Lingnan University Flag Guard Team, namely Chan Pui-yee, Li Junhui, Li Ka-yee and Wang Pu, took part in the competition organised by the “Hong Kong Army Cadets Association”. With their outstanding performance, they secured the 1st Runner-Up (Marching Step Group) in the Tertiary Institutions Category. 

The competition was held at the Tsing Yi Youth Development and National Education Base. It included categories for primary schools, secondary schools and tertiary institutions, with a total of seven tertiary institutions competing. The competition aims to deepen young people’s understanding of national security through flag-raising drills and to strengthen their patriotic sentiments towards the country and Hong Kong as well as sense of national identity.
