Lingnan joins the 3rd International Liberal Arts Education Conference

Prof Joshua Mok Ka-ho, Vice-President and Lam Man Tsan Chair Professor of Comparative Policy of Lingnan University attended the 3rd International Liberal Arts Education Conference held at Fudan University, Shanghai from 15 to 16 April.

 

About 210 experts, academics and related representatives from more than 70 tertiary institutions including The University of Chicago, Yale University, Swarthmore College, Wellesley College, Nanyang Technological University of Singapore, National Taiwan University, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Lingnan University, University of Macau, Macau University of Science and Technology, Peking University, Zhejiang University, Fudan University and Duke Kunshan University attended the Conference.  They conducted in-depth and extensive discussion and exchange around the theme “Liberal Arts Education: Idea and Practice”.

 

At the Conference, Prof Mok gave a presentation on the topic “The Quest for World-class University Status: Liberal Arts Education and Sustainable Development of Asian Universities”.  A number of representatives from other institutions also delivered thematic presentations at the Conference.  They revisited liberal arts education under the context of globalisation, and shared from different angles their practical experiences in education and teaching that aim to nurture liberal arts talents.
