Alumni celebrate the New Year with big bowl feast

Over 300 alumni, their families and friends gathered in the afternoon of 10 March on campus for the Alumni New Year Poon Choi Gathering.  With fine weather and delicious Poon Choi, or big bowl feast which is a traditional Chinese cuisine, all participants had a joyful time in celebrating the festive season.

Prof Joshua Mok Ka-ho, Vice-President of Lingnan University and Dr William Leung, Chairman of Lingnan University Alumni Association (Hong Kong) delivered their welcoming remarks and joined other guests in sending their warm festive greetings to the participants.  The University’s Student Lion Dance Team and Student Band “Aurora” added to the festive atmosphere with their wonderful performances.  The banquet was concluded with a lucky draw which was the highlight of the day.

Apart from the banquet, different activities were arranged for participants such as handicraft and food booths, movie time, sports activities and campus tour.  The campus tour was led by elders from the “Elder Academy at Lingnan” and the participants were very glad to visit the academic buildings, student hostels and other well-equipped facilities on campus.
