Thirty Lingnan staff received Long Service Award

At the Long Service Award Presentation Ceremony 2023 on 3 May, LU gave awards to staff members who have completed 15 years of service, and then at intervals of five years in appreciation of their prolonged dedication and contributions.

In his welcoming remarks, LU President Prof Leonard K Cheng spoke of his gratitude for the outstanding service of the staff members that has contributed to the University’s great progress over the years. “Staff and students are the most important asset of the University. Their performance determines its standing and reputation.”

Prof Preet Pankaj Hiradhar, Associate Professor of Teaching of the Department of English has been serving in her 15th year at Lingnan. “It is a privilege and an honour. I am glad to be able to do something which I really feel very passionate about. Students keep me going. Teaching is getting into the classroom and seeing students’ faces light up. I am so glad that I have been able to do that for 15 years.”

Li Kwun-ying, known as Ying Jie, joined Lingnan 30 years ago as an Office Services Assistant. The neat and orderly campus is due in no small part to Ying Jie and the housekeeping team’s constant hard work. “I am very happy, and would like to thank Lingnan and everyone around for a caring workplace and years of kindness to me. It is the sense of responsibility that makes me keep up despite ups and downs,” she said.
