LU receives encouraging GRF & ECS results in the 2023/24 funding exercise
Lingnan University has encouraging results from the Research Grants Council in the 2023/24 General Research Fund (GRF) and Early Career Scheme (ECS).
LU has broken records both in the number of funded projects and in funding, with 42 projects funded at a total of $20.8 million, with a 50 percent increase in GRF funds.
According to the RGC, projects that achieve a score of 5 or 4.5 are considered to be of high quality. Of the 42 funded projects, 25 have reached that level, while four have attained the full mark of 5.

This year we have recorded increases of 27% and 50% respectively over last year in the number of funded projects and in terms of funding.
ECS
Our success rate of 47% has put us in the first place among all universities in this exercise, well above the sector rate of 35.6%.
Across the sector, LU is one of only seven projects to win the Early Career Award.
